Submersible well pumps are long cylinders usually 3 to 5 inches in diameter and 2 to 4 feet long. These well pumps can be set hundreds of feet below the surface of the water, deep in the water well.
Jet pumps are usually stored close to the well. Shallow well jet pumps are for wells under 25 feet in depth and have no working parts in the water. Deep well jet pumps are for wells up to 75 feet deep and have the ejector installed in the well itself.
